São Pedro
São Pedro do Estoril
São Pedro is the project for a house belonging to a retired couple whose family is the central theme.
The polygon is regular, the boundaries well-defined and the intention unequivocal: to open up the house to the outside, and bring the beach, sky and sea to it.
The simple, pure volume set the tone for the intervention. Thought and (de)construction excavated light entrances. The elements of nature - sand, water, vegetation - gave the space an intimate tone as well as a warm, soft atmosphere, as the house's identity.
With the clear intention of occupying the space in such a way as to make the most of its spatial characteristics, orientation and integration into the existing fabric, the house is built on two floors, sometimes full and sometimes empty, where light invades and moderates form, texture and colour.
On the ground floor are the social spaces and on the upper floor are the bedrooms. The social space visually extends beyond the physical limits of the volume, in a close relationship with the exterior and with the swimming pool that develops to the south, accompanying the entire lateral dimension of the proposed project.
The garden embraces all four elevations and emphasises a permanent connection with the interior. Tears to the east invite you in. Picture windows to the west and north encourage you to stay. Larger openings to the south summon the copious and impatient vegetation into a waltz between light and shade, with the place where you live.
Construction will begin soon.
